Hopefully something like a buffalo wild wings or something... We need an actual sports bar around here. I want multiple projector style tv's with all of the sports packages. NFL Ticket, NHL Center Ice, MLD Extra-Innings...ect..

I wasnt a fan of the place, but when Yuengling had their all you can drink bar crawl and we stopped there, I really enjoyed the place. I always said it was funny, that with there dance floor, they thought they were a club, and the "crews" that went there believed it.
Further, $1 Pitchers = Best Idea Ever (to go bankrupt)

Further, $1 Pitchers = Best Idea Ever (to go bankrupt) $1 Pitchers doesn't make anyone go broke. That brings people into the bar to spend more money. You see that special all over the country in college towns. What shut down booms was the LCB took their liquor license for repetitive underages. Any what would have caused any money issues was that people don't dance until their drunk so they would go to other bars to "pregame" before booms. Booms was empty until 1 then it was packed with drunkies looking to dance and hook up, but those people weren't buying more than 1 drink typically if any.

Wow,
What a great thread.
While I'm not going to say I never went in the place and shook it up a bit (hell I used to dj there before the crap hit the fan), Boomerangs was a terrible bar, and a worse club.
The place was filthy night and day, they let in pretty much anyone, and the music was ALWAYS too loud (and nutsty most of the time, their house dj was god awful)
however, I don't think there are any other bars in Pittsburgh I could have just walked into and started playing flip cup with 1 dollar pitchers and nobody would care...
I hope people realize there will never be a succesful dance club in Pittsburgh (after Laga) because of the liability and young median age of students, and that in order to actually have a classy night out we're just going to have to continue going to Station square. (And maybe open up a sports bar to take some of the crowding away from Hems like some of the other folks in this thread have suggested)
